CAN I REGISTER BY MAIL?
No, all registrations must be completed online.
CAN I REGISTER ON RACE DAY?
Yes, you can register on your smart phone the morning of BUT it will be crowded and we may not have shirts available. 
CAN I CHANGE MY RACE DISTANCE?
Yes, you may change your race distance online through Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. Click here or, in your RunSignUp account, click on "Profile," find the race on the "Upcoming Events" tab and click on "Manage Registration" to change your race distance online. 
WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
Charlie Post Classic follows standard running industry policy, which dictates that registration fees are non-refundable.
CAN I TRANSFER MY REGISTRATION TO ANOTHER RUNNER? 
You may transfer your registration to another runner in the same or shorter run distance without charge. Click here or, in your RunSignUp account, click on "Profile," find the race on the "Upcoming Events" tab and click on "Manage Registration" to transfer your registration. All transfers must be done before January 24, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. 
IS THERE A TIME LIMIT FOR THE 15K?
Yes, all runners must finish the race within 2.0 hours of the start. Runners finishing after 2.0 hours may not receive an official time.
HOW MANY RUNNERS ARE EXPECTED?
We expect approximately 500 runners in the 15K and 500 runners in the 5k for 2024.
ARE SHIRTS INCLUDED IN THE REGISTRATION FEE?
Yes, a long sleeve shirt will be available for those who register before January 15, 2024. After that date will be upon availability.
ARE AWARDS BASED ON GUN TIME OR CHIP TIME?
Overall awards are based on gun time and age group awards are based on chip time.
WHAT IF IT RAINS OR THERE IS A BAD WEATHER EVENT?
Both races will take place rain or shine. There will be no weather-related refunds. The event can be cancelled if the Race Committee determines the course is unsafe due to poor weather conditions.
ARE WALKERS, STROLLERS OR DOGS ALLOWED?
Walkers and strollers are allowed in the 5K and runners with strollers in the 15K. Both must start at the back and must be off the course in 2.0 hours. Dogs are not allowed on the course for safety purposes. 
ARE THE COURSES CERTIFIED?
Both courses are certified.
WILL RACE PACKETS BE MAILED?
Race packets will not be mailed. They can be picked up at packet pick up. Exception: Virtual Race entries will be mailed the packet post race. 
WHERE DO I PARK FOR THE RACES?
Parking will be provided along the street and in the public parking areas along Poe Avenue at Battery Jasper. Please do not block residents' driveways and please be mindful of runners if leaving early.
WHAT IS THE COURSE ELEVATION?
The highest course elevation is no more than 5 feet. Both courses are well paved, flat and fast!
CAN I SIGN UP TO BE A VOLUNTEER?

IS THERE A POST-RACE CEREMONY?
Yes, there will be a post-race awards ceremony.
WHAT AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN?
Awards for the top-overall finishers, masters, grand masters and great grand masters are one deep. Age group awards from 14 and under to 80 and above are three deep in 5-year age groups.
CAN I PICK UP ANOTHER RUNNER'S PACKET?
Yes, you may pick up another runner’s packet.
CAN I DROP MY BAG OFF AT THE START AND PICK IT UP AFTER THE RACE?
No, bags may not be left unattended during the race.
IS THE CHARLIE POST CLASSIC RUN FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES?
Yes, the race raises funds for the Charlie Post Scholarship Fund at the College of Charleston and the Charleston Animal Society.
