A pacer is an experienced runner that runs at a set speed in a race, typically a long-distance event. This helps you finish at your desired time.
Charlotte Racefest is proud to work with Charlotte Running Club, RunCLTRun, Forward Motion Training and the Charlotte running community to provide pacers in both the 10K and Half Marathon race distances.
Please visit the pace team pre-race. They will be in the park 30 minutes prior to the race start. The pacers will line up at the start line based on their specific goal finish time in order to help all participants line up properly (faster runners to the front, walkers, strollers and leashed pets to the rear).
There is a strict 3-hour course time limit enforced by the City of Charlotte. The course closes at 10:30AM. If you cannot complete the race before 10:30AM, police will move you to sidewalks and you will not have course support.
*You do NOT have to run with a pacer. Pacers are a service provided for those who would like the support to reach their particular finish line time goals. It's YOUR RACE AND YOUR PACE!
