VIRTUAL RACE INFORMATION

We have created a virtual race option for those who would like to participate but are unable to attend the in-person race. Here's how the virtual race works:

1. Register for the virtual event, and sign up for text or e-mail notifications
2. Your race swag will be available for pickup at our pre race packet pickups, or can be mailed to you at no additional cost. We will begin mailing virtual packets on August 12th.
3. You'll receive a text or email (if you opt in) when the race "starts" on August 9th.
4. Run your race and submit your results either by text message or email (if you've opted in) or by heading to the results page here by August 10th at 11:59 PM Eastern Time). Results update in real time as people submit their times. Be sure to take a selfie and post on social media with the hashtags #charmcityrun and #boordy5k
5. Sit back and enjoy your swag!

Note: Virtual race performances are not eligible for the overall event awards.

Here is how it works:

1. Register online for the Charm City Run 5K at Boordy Vineyards.
2. Receive a unique referral link via your confirmation page and email.
3. Share this link with your friends, family or post on social media.
4. After 5 registrants sign up using your unique referral link you will automatically receive a refund of your registration fee.

ARRIVAL

Please plan to arrive at Boordy Vineyards prior to 5:30PM as the roads leading into the Vineyard will be closed to guarantee all traffic is off the course prior to the start of the race. The following roads will be closed at 5:30PM and will re-open no sooner than 7 PM:

Long Green Road between Kanes Road and Long Green Pike
Long Green Pike between Long Green Road and Hydes Road

Please encourage your friends and family to bring along a picnic and join the festivities! NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL. Only wine purchased at the vineyard will be permitted on the premises.

AMENITIES

Participants in the Charm City Run 5K at Boordy Vineyards receive the following:

Cotton/Poly blend race shirt
Souvenir glass of wine for participants 21 and over (other non-alcoholic beverages available)
Post-race snacks
Access to the post-race party with live music, food vendors, and additional wine offerings for sale

AWARDS

Awards will be given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall.

Awards will also be given to the top three males and females in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-20, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

COURSE

The out-and-back 5K starts and ends on the vineyard property and covers varying terrain including grass, gravel and road. Runners pass through a grassy stretch of the vineyard at the beginning and end of the race, with the majority of the race on paved road. Strollers are not permitted.

BENEFICIARY

The Long Green Land Trust is a group comprised of local residents who share a common concern for land preservation and quality of life. Several hundred neighbors in and about the Valley comprise the LGLT membership. The Land Trust seeks to help property owners large and small understand the financial and personal benefits that accompany land preservation.

EVENT GUIDELINES

Please no baby joggers, strollers, roller blades, skates, bikes, dogs, or other pets allowed on the race course. For your safety we discourage the use of headphones. Your race number must be worn on your front and must be visible. DO NOT exchange or give your race number to another participant.
