When should I complete my virtual Dash To Cure Cancer 5K?
Anytime between 12:00am PDT July 1 and 11:59pm PDT July 31, 2021.
Is any part of this event in-person? How can I meet Dash?
This event is entirely virtual, which means there will be no organized in-person race. However we hope you’ll recruit a friend or two to safely join you on your run.
Dash will be making appearances throughout the month on our social media channels (see “Can I connect on social?” below) and will be having a live meet-&-greet at PostDoc Brewing in Redmond on Sunday, August 1st! Come celebrate your 5K victory with Dash (observing appropriate safety protocols) - time TBD!
How do I track my 5K?
There is no official tracking method for this race, so you can record your time and distance via your preferred application. After you’ve completed your 5K run or walk, come back to this site to record your time on the “Results” tab above.
Strava users can also join Dash’s club - https://www.strava.com/clubs/dashtocurecancer (only registered participants will be granted access). You’ll be able to see your fellow Dash fans’ activities leading up to and during the race period. After completing your “official” run or walk, update the name of your Strava activity to “Dash to Cure Cancer 5K” (and add a picture or two) so we can celebrate your finish!
Can I connect on social?
Absolutely! Join our Facebook Group – www.facebook.com/groups/dashtocurecancer - and share pictures of your Dash To Cure Cancer. We love to see shots of your training, race-day outfit, odes to Dash, start line, finish line and everything in between! The Golden Boy himself will be making some appearances 😊.
We’re also on Instagram (of course!) – follow @Dash.Dog and this event at @dash_to_cure_cancer_5K. Be sure to tag us and use #dashtocurecancer on your race-day posts!
Can I Create A Team?
Yes! Please email us at dash2curecancer@gmail.com for information on team registration, forming a company team, discounts and more.
When will I receive my Race Medal?
Medals will be shipped within 5-7 business days after race completion for the first 500 people who register. After that medals will ship no later than August 25th.
When will I receive my Life Is Golden Hat?
If you purchased a Life Is Golden Hat during the registration process, it will be mailed within 5-7 business days.
Do you ship outside the US?
Yes! But there is an extra charge for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and international addresses (shipping is included for the Lower 48).
I didn’t buy a hat during registration, can I still?
Yes! Please email us at dash2curecancer@gmail.com.
What charity does this support?
100% of proceeds and additional donations go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Dash and his hooman friends support the mission of LLS: to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS also prioritizes improving access to care and cancer treatments for underserved communities (people impacted by racial, cultural and rural barriers) and pediatric/young adult initiatives – initiatives that are very near-and-dear to Dash’s heart!
