Q: How does a virtual challenge work?
A: Look yourself in the mirror. Decide what you are made of. Select a challenge distance you can cover without any trouble or pick one that will push you to really challenge yourself. Once you select a challenge distance you will have 75 days (Oct 18th to Dec 31st) to stay accountable and cover your mileage goal.
Q: Is there a minimum age to complete the Ditto Towns Challenge?
A: No minimum age, we do have some challenge distances that is totally appropriate for kids 12 and under.
Q: I'm doing another virtual run during the same period can I count those miles towards this challenge?
A: “Double dipping” is allowed.
Q: When do I receive my swag?
A: We will start mailing your fleece ear warmer headbands towards the middle of the challenge period. You’ll still have plenty of time to reach your goal.
Q: Where should I complete my miles?
A: That's the beauty of a virtual challenge. You can cover miles wherever and whenever you like! Your neighborhood, local parks, treadmill are all good options.
Q: Do I have to run the whole way?
A: No. You can run, walk, hike. You just have to move and move often. Those miles aren't going to complete themselves.
Q: Do I need a GPS watch or smartphone app to track my mileage?
A: No, you can use whatever technology that works best for you to track your mileage. You will not require any proof of activity. We call it the Honor System.
Q: Do treadmill miles count? How about trail miles?
A: Yes for treadmills miles. But really? Get your butt out the door and enjoy that amazing, crisp New England Fall weather!
Q: Can I run/walk multiple times a day?
A: Yes, breaking your miles up several times a day counts too!
Q: How do I keep track of my miles and time?
A: Refer to the "How to submit mileage” under the "Results" tab on the challenge website. We'll keep track and show you your progress as you make your way towards your goal.
