Brain cancer is now the leading cause of death by disease in children and Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) accounts for approximately 50% of those deaths. There is no cure for DIPG and the majority of kids will survive 9-11 months following diagnosis. About 300 children will be diagnosed with DIPG this year in the United States; that means an average of twenty-five (25) kids will receive that terminal diagnosis this month alone!
We have committed to complete the BOO! Brain Cancer - Bike Challenge to help raise funds for brain cancer research and patient support! No child deserves to be given a death sentence. Help us raise awareness and change these scary statistics.
Funds raised in this challenge benefit Princess Hailey&#39;s Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization formed in memory of Hailey Acevedo, who bravely battled DIPG for 17 months. Our mission is to raise funds for childhood brain cancer research, with an emphasis on Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), and to support children who are battling this disease.
