Freshwater Land Trust conserves, connects, and cares for land and water in Central Alabama, creating dynamic green spaces for future generations. In the simplest terms, we conserve land and build trails so that Alabama’s communities are healthier and happier.
Since 1996, we have worked to conserve land that is critical for the protection of rivers and provide recreational opportunities for local communities. We work in Bibb, Blount, Dallas, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Tuscaloosa, and Walker counties and are proud to partner with governments, corporations, landowners, and community groups to protect our natural environment and to increase public outdoor recreational opportunities. We are nationally accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, meeting national standards of excellence, upholding the public trust, and ensuring conservation efforts are permanent.
