Beginning August 30, 2018, the Little Sisters of the Poor will celebrate a jubilee year marking the 150th anniversary of the community’s arrival in the United States. From Jeanne Jugan’s humble heart flowed a great wave of charity that eventually spread all over the world. This wave reached America on September 13, 1868, when seven Little Sisters arrived in Brooklyn, New York after a long ocean voyage to establish the community’s first home in America.
We hope you can help celebrate this special occasion by joining us for the 12th Annual Nun Run. The event will take place on Saturday, September 15th at the Jeanne Jugan Residence, located in Newark, DE.
Our Nun Run committee and staff are working hard to make this year’s event the best ever and are asking for your support and participation. This year's goal is to raise $50,000! All proceeds will go towards the replacement of the home's existing roof.
As partners in caring, we value your participation and we hope you will support our mission. We look forward to seeing you on September 15th at Jeanne Jugan Residence as we celebrate the Little Sisters of the Poor “Coming to America”!
