What is the purpose of a Sinnissippi CARES Request?
Specifically, Sinnissippi CARES requests are a source of emergency assistance to individual Sinnissippi clients and their families. Typically, the biggest three categories of request are rent assistance, utility assistance, and medication co-pay assistance. But there are a variety of other ermergency situations such as employment related items and transportation related that can impact a clients mental wellness and ability to effectively engage in their treatment and recovery.
How are Sinnissippi CARES requests and Sinnissippi Centers related?
Sinnissippi CARES requests are one of several programs Sinnissippi has to benefit the urgent needs of clients and by extension their family members to preserve or enhance their mental wellness. The CARES program is administered by Sinnissippi Centers with the involvement of Sinnissippi Centers’ staff.
Where does the money come from for Sinnissippi CARES requests?
The CARES program was established with the assistance of Sinnissippi Centers’ employees who have designated contributions to this special program. From time to time, Sinnissippi may choose to transfer other contributions it has received from individuals, companies, and others in our communities into the CARES program. Some donations are designated specifically to the CARES Fund.
Who is eligible for assistance?
Any current Sinnissippi client is eligible for assistance.
Who can make a request for assistance?
Sinnissippi staff must make a CARES Request on behalf of their client.
What size awards are possible?
Requests of up to $300 will be considered per client per fiscal year. Obviously, smaller requests will make it possible for the CARES program to assist more people. NOTE: A client can have more than one CARES request in a fiscal year, but cannot have more than $300.00 total in CARES assistance in any one fiscal year. The one exception is for a separate program within CARES, the special residential request. These requests are usually filed by apartment staff.
