The Y ensures that the time gap after school is filled creatively and constructively. The Visser Family YMCA’s Impact After School Program is an exciting and unique partnership between the Y, Grandville, Jenison and Hudsonville Public School systems, and corporate and foundation donors.
Combining play with academics, the Impact After School Program promotes creativity, a love for learning, social and emotional development and character building in a safe and nurturing environment with caring adults. Studies show that participation in after school programs helps boost school attendance and academic performance, and helps to alleviate achieve gaps among children.
In our Impact After School Program, youth are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement.
