Davidson-Cornelius Child Development Center's, DCCDC, mission is to provide high-quality, affordable early education and care for any child of our community without regard to race, ethnicity, religion or socioeconomic status, and to embrace and foster diversity in a safe learning environment. At DCCDC, we believe the path to equal opportunity starts in preschool. Access to quality education early in life has a tremendous impact on young lives and in breaking the cycle of poverty for families in need. Without successful intervention, many children by age 5 are in danger of falling behind other children in their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Every additional child that we reach now through our early childhood education program is an investment in the future of our community.
At FeedNC, we serve Mooresville and the surrounding area with nutritious meals, supporting programming, and helpful resources to help those in need. From our Grassroots Grocery to our Culinary Program, FeedNC offers services to anyone who walks through our doors. It takes more than a meal to end hunger.
For nearly 20 years, LEARN Works has been the only free afterschool academic program in northern Mecklenburg County for local elementary and middle school students who are 1-3 grade levels behind their peers. Our students attend various elementary and middle schools in Davidson, Cornelius and Huntersville, and are referred to our program by a schoolteacher or administrator.
LEARN Works partners with families, schools, and volunteers to support the academic progress of our students and to advance family engagement. We also provide enrichment activities that many families could not otherwise afford.
Your financial support helps us to provide lifesaving surgery to a child every 99 minutes by empowering doctors and nurses with the tools, training, funding and support they need to treat children in their country of birth.
