Mission Statement: The mission of Rowan Helping Ministries is to serve, through cooperative community action, our neighbors in Rowan County who are in crisis, by providing essential life needs and educating and empowering them to break the cycle of crisis.
The 2024 Winter Flight race earned $15,000 for these families and individuals, and it is our goal to exceed that amount this year!!
New this year is a drawing for a Roll Bicycle Company "Adventure Gravel 1" bike - valued at $800. See photo here. The bike is donated by Skinny Wheels Pedals and Pints and all bike giveaway ticket sales go directly to benefit Rowan Helping Ministries! It is an 11-speed bike with 700x35 tires. Tickets are available by visiting Skinny Wheels Pedals and Pints at 111 W. Innes Street, Salisbury NC or will be available for purchase on site race day. One ticket for $5 and three tickets for $10. The bike can be seen at Skinny Wheels until race day.
All 8k/5k runners and walkers registered by midnight January 20th will receive one free entry into the drawing. In addition, anyone donating to Rowan Helping Ministries at checkout will receive three entries into the drawing for every $10 donated (one entry for $5 donated). Bike giveaway tickets will remain for sale until 3:30 pm on race day. The drawing will be held immediately upon completion of the awards ceremony and will conclude the 2025 Winter Flight celebration. The winner does not have to be present to win.
