Syrathon is a project of the Syracuse Parks Conservancy (“SPC”), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to maintain and improve the city’s parks and green spaces through a public-private partnership with the City of Syracuse.
The SPC continues to make great strides in achieving its mission: to ensure that all Syracuse parks, public lands and habitats therein are sustainably protected, restored, enhanced and developed for the educational, recreational and wellness uses of our citizens and their guests.
Please consider a donation to help SPC continue to support Syrathon along with many other great community projects, including:
- Greening Grants – With help from the Central New York Community Foundation, the SPC awarded about $9,000 to community groups for localized beautification projects;
- Ormand Spencer Dog Park – SPC helped raise $27,000 to transform an old softball field into a community dog park;
- Elmwood Bulb Blitz – SPC and Lowe’s joined forces to donate 1,580 flower bulbs planted by volunteers in Elmwood Park;
- Syracuse Swims On – The SPC partnered with the City of Syracuse to raise more than $100,000 via GoFundMe and community donors to open two city pools during the summer of 2020
- Mobile Recreation – The SPC partnered with the city’s Parks Department to fund virtual, safe activities that could be delivered in various city parks throughout the summer of 2020
This is only a sampling of the work SPC is working on, thanks to generous donors like you.
