Loudon County Education Foundation
Founded in 1998 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Loudon County Education Foundation is dedicated to our mission: Investing in education in Loudon County by enriching lifelong learning, encouraging professional development and emphasizing business and community participation in education. The Board and staff work to ensure the success of this mission by providing a range of meaningful learning opportunities to residents of all ages. With a 25-member board of directors that meet monthly, the Foundation has support from Superintendents from both the county and city schools as well as professionals from all levels of business, industry and community leaders who provide a unique perspective in the operation of the Foundation.
Our current contribution numbers for 2024 are as follows:
Great Idea Grants – 10 Grants awarded, $12,000 awarded, impacted 3,200 students
Primient Science and Math Grants $15.000 awarded
Young Achievers and Annual Essay Contest $3,150

2027 Children in Loudon County between ages 0-5 have received a book a month for the year at a cost of $47,875.00. Education Foundation partners with the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation, Kiwanis of Tellico Village, Good Neighbor’s Shoppe, United Way, Dollar General Foundation, and private individuals to raise the funds to provide this program in Loudon County. $25,000 was raised directly by the Foundation, with Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation contributing the matching funds to make up the difference.

Since 2012, we have been able to contribute over $1,032,936 to education in Loudon County.
