Energy City Race

In 2011 Camron Stotts, along with his wife Jami, took an enormous leap of faith making a decision to leave behind a successful career in oil and gas to launch a ministry that would serve single mothers and their children in the Permian Basin.  To begin, the Stotts purchased the Roper Ranch property on Briarwood Ave and spent a year remodeling it to house both their own family (four children) and single mothers in need of spiritual and financial assistance.  In the years since, Restoration Farm has provided practical, spiritual, and financial support to dozens of single mothers and their children.

In 2015, to support the ongoing expense of their ministry, Camron joined his passion for athleticism and a healthy lifestyle with his compassion for single mothers launching the Energy City Half Marathon race in Midland.  Race proceeds were exclusively for the benefit of the ministry and the families it served.  Over the last four years, the Energy City Half Marathon race has become not only a staple destination for local runners but also draws runners from surrounding communities and states.

In April of 2018, Camron was suddenly and recklessly killed by a drunk driver while cycling on TX-158.  Camron leaves behind a wife and four children, countless friends, and a community in need of his servant's heart.

For many of us who were close to Camron the reality of losing him so early, and under such tragic circumstances, is difficult to comprehend.  We are overwhelmed when we consider what a loss his passing is for his family, his wife Jami now a single mother herself, but also for our community.  Camron lived his life, fueled by his faith in Jesus Christ, to be a force for physical and spiritual transformation and while we must say goodbye to him for now, we are hopeful to see his legacy continue.

The Camron Stotts Foundation, a 501(c)3 charity, has been established that Camron's legacy of service and spirit of charity might continue.  Beginning in 2019 the Stotts Foundation will assume the role of hosting the Energy City Half Marathon.  Funds raised will be used to further the causes of organizations that aligned with Camron's passions and his belief that lives can be transformed.
