The EPIC Center’s 2026 Walk 4 Life 5K: FAQs
1. When and where is the race?
The race will take place on April 18 at Lenoir County Community College in Kinston, NC.
Opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m. Please arrive early to check in and warm up.
2. How do I register?
You can register online through RunSignup. Online registration is recommended to secure your
spot. You MUST register by 03/18/26 to receive a free race T-shirt with your registration.
3. Is there a registration deadline?
Early bird registration deadline is April 1, but we welcome online registrations up until the day
before the race and race-day registration will be available on-site until 7:30 a.m.
4. How much does it cost to participate?
Registration fees vary:
5K Run: $30
1-Mile Walk: $20
Early bird pricing is guaranteed until April 1. Prices increase after April 1.
5. Are there age restrictions?
No, participants of all ages are welcome! Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
6. Are strollers or pets allowed?
Strollers are welcome on the course. Pets are typically not allowed for safety reasons, but service
animals are permitted.
Race Day FAQs
7. What time should I arrive?
Plan to arrive 30 minutes before the start of your event to check in and pick up your race packet.
8. Where do I park?
Free parking will be available near the event site. Volunteers will direct you to designated
parking areas.
9. What should I bring?
Bring comfortable running/walking gear, and sunscreen or weather-appropriate clothing. Water
stations will be available.
10. Will there be water stations?
Yes, water stations will be located at the start, midway, and finish points.
11. Is there a time limit to complete the race?
There is no course limit for the 5K run or 1-mile walk.
Event Features FAQs
12. Are there awards or prizes?
Yes, awards will be given to the top three male and female timed 5k finishers, the largest team,
and the team that raised the most money.
13. Is there a race packet, and what does it include?
Participants will receive a race packet that includes a bib, T-shirt, and additional goodies from
sponsors.
14. Will there be any other activities?
The event will include music, some food/beverage trucks, and other family-friendly activities.
Miscellaneous FAQs
15. Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
No, registrations can be transferred to another participant.
16. What happens if it rains?
The event will proceed rain or shine. In the unlikely case of a true weather emergency, updates
will be posted on the website and social media and an email will be sent to registered participants
and volunteers.
17. Can I volunteer?
Absolutely! Volunteers are essential to making the event a success. Visit the Volunteer tab of our
website to sign up as a volunteer.
18. Where do proceeds from the event go?
Proceeds will benefit The EPIC Center to support pregnant women in our community and
surrounding areas.
