"GROK" VIRTUAL 5K MEMORIAL RUN/WALK/ROLL/HIKE
Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine encourages our campus community to get outside and participate in a 5K run, walk, roll, or hike to honor those that we have lost. The 5K will take place between April 3 – May 3, 2021 and, since we cannot gather together physically, each individual may decide best on how to complete their 5K goal during the time that works best for them.
The theme of this event is “Grok”. This word comes from the book “Stranger in a Strange Land” by Robert Heinlein and means to “understand (something) intuitively or by empathy” (Dictionary.com). It serves as a testament to those TUC community members we have lost and encourages all of us to continue to understand and empathize with those that we serve.
Please take time to join members of the TUC community as we reflect, to remember, to grieve, and to heal. Enjoy all of the beauty and awe that nature has to offer.
