Break Your Neck Walk, Run, or Roll 5k

Break Your Neck Walk • Run • Roll 5K

Impact First

The Break Your Neck 5K has generated over $75,000 in support.

Come join us to celebrate the access and disability community while raising money for spinal cord injury rehabilitation and awareness.

Why This Race Exists

My name is Kenny White III.

On November 15, 2023, I suffered a burst fracture to my C6 vertebrae. After emergency surgery, I woke up a quadriplegic. After months of rehabilitation and hard work, by the grace of God, I was able to regain full use of my legs.

I decided I wanted to start running again — and my wife encouraged me to start a 5K.

God gave me a second chance. I hope this race inspires others to keep fighting, to keep getting better, and to never give up. Everybody has their own struggles. Everybody carries scars. Life isn’t perfect — but it sure is beautiful.

Come run with me, my family, and my friends.
Together, we can make a difference.

What “Come Run With Us” Means

This race is for all abilities and disabilities.

The Break Your Neck Walk, Run, or Roll is about getting back up when you’ve been knocked down. It’s about the resilient fire inside all of us that refuses to die.

“Come Run With Us” isn’t just a saying — it’s a mantra.
We’re doing this together.
We’re running together.
We’re building something together.

2025 Recap — A Community Effort

From the very beginning, the outpouring of support for this race has been unbelievable.

Sponsors and partners stepped forward not because they were asked — but because they believed in the mission:
• Rusler Produce heard the story and stepped up
• American Medical Response joined after the KOAA 5 feature
• Thornton Medical came on as a Presenting Sponsor
• UCHealth Spine Team, including Carrie Gruytch-Kirk, supported from the start
• Local businesses, elected officials, friends, and neighbors offered help however they could

Every donor — from $10 to $1,000 — made this possible.
Every name on the shirt matters.

Building something new is hard. Asking for support is hard.
But when people say, “How can I help?” — that’s how an idea becomes a movement.
