The Orange Cinco 5K De Mayo - 5K Road Race, 1 Mile Walk

This is an accurately measured 5K run OR you can walk. This 5K distance is COMPUTER TIMED so it is essential that you wear the CORRECT BIB GIVEN TO YOU. Using any other bib number will affect the results of the entire event.

Awards will be given to overall M&F winners and 3-deep in age groups 9& under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. More may be added if entries arrive with age 80+ participants.

This course is different than the other 5K's that run from this venue. The first and last half miles of this course are on the cinder/gravel trail located on the grounds of the High Plains Community Center. Spectators will be able to see you for much more than most events. There will be a water table on the course at approx. 1.4 miles (David Rd). The course is well marked with white flour arrows on the roads, traffic cones, turning signs, each mile has a sign, and signage to alert traffic of the race. Police are on duty to help you cross Orange Center Rd going out, and coming back into the campus.

This One Mile option will be an NON-TIMED event. Participants receive everything that the 5k entrants get. There are no awards AND this event stays on the campus of the Orange Plains Community Center. It does not go on the roads- great for families and smaller children.

The Course starts with the 5k- travels for 1/2 mile on the cinder trail around the community center, turns around and comes back to the finish. It is flat, easy, might have a few bumps(!) , quiet, scenic, and perfect for working up a thirst for the free margarita that awaits at the end!

This Kids event will be held on our field or groomed trail before the start of the 5K. We will offer varying distances dependent on the number of kids and the age spread. We request that the child be in 6th grade or under. It is a FUN, non competitive, NO Awards event. We will have a finishers ribbon and food /fluids for the little chili peppers when they are done! Note the start time is tentative. We will update and announce if there are any changes to the schedule.

Food tickets will be available to the general public who have not registered for the 5K or one mile events. Friends & families are asked to secure a ticket. Food at the event is for paid participants and ticket holders only. The kids run will have snacks available.
