Run 4 Your Lungs 5K Run/Walk

DID YOU KNOW? One in 16 people in the US will be diagnosed with Lung Cancer in their lifetime. More than 228,000 people in the US will be diagnosed with Lung Cancer this year, with a new diagnosis every 2.3 minutes.

The 2nd Annual Run 4 Your Lungs 5K Run/Walk will raise awareness about the importance of LDCT Lung Screenings in the early detection of Lung Cancer.  Early detection leads to better outcomes.

Join us as we run/walk through the beautiful campus of Florida Southwestern State College.  Show your support for those currently battling Lung Cancer, for the survivors, and in memory of those lost to this disease. By participating in this event you will help raise funds to help those get the LDCT Lung Cancer Screenings they may desperately need but cannot afford.

First 100 registered will receive event t-shirt.

Proceeds from this event will benefit 4 uninsured and under-insured individuals referred into the Low Dose CT Lung Cancer Screening Program through 4 Words Foundation.

Awards are provided to the top male/female 5K Timed Run finishers overall, and in each category below:

Overall: Male/Female
Masters:                              40 and above
Grand Masters:                  50 and above
Senior Grand Masters:      60 and above


The first 3 male and female finishers in the 5K Timed Run in each of the age categories below will receive a medal:


9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and older

Refreshments, Awards and Chance Drawings follow race.

Please be advised when registering for this event, that the event coordinator reserves the right to cancel the In-Person event or convert it to an all virtual event based on the prevailing CDC and governmental recommendation related to Covid-19. To the extent that the event is cancelled or converted to an all virtual event there will be no refunds and your registration fee will be deemed a donation.

Unable to attend our "live" 5K on November 6, 2021 but would like to support this worthy cause?

Enter our Virtual 5K . Complete 3.1 miles on your time, in your location, on a treadmill, or even at another race. Must complete 5K between April 7, 2020 and Nov. 30, 2021.

All those who complete the Run 4 Your Lungs Virtual 5K will receive a finisher medal. Just upload your bib number and date/time info to https://www.4wordsfoundation.org/enter-r4yl-virtual-5k-time and a finisher medal will be mailed.
