DID YOU KNOW? One in 16 people in the US will be diagnosed with Lung Cancer in their lifetime. More than 228,000 people in the US will be diagnosed with Lung Cancer this year, with a new diagnosis every 2.3 minutes.
The 2nd Annual Run 4 Your Lungs 5K Run/Walk will raise awareness and provide funding for LDCT Lung Screenings in the early detection of Lung Cancer. Early detection leads to better outcomes.
Join us as we run/walk through the beautiful campus of Florida Southwestern State College. Show your support for those currently battling Lung Cancer, for the survivors, and in memory of those lost to this disease. By participating in this event you will help raise funds to help those who are uninsured or under-insured get the LDCT Lung Cancer Screenings they may desperately need but cannot afford.

Your sponsorship will be included in both the "LIVE" 5K Run/Walk as well as the Virtual event.

Proceeds from this event will go to 4 Words Foundation to benefit uninsured and under-insured individuals referred into the Regional Cancer Center's Lung Cancer Screening Program and 4 Words Foundations LDCT programs. Low Dose CT will be completed at either Radiology Regional or Florida Radiology Consultants.
Put our current "Social Distancing" situation to good work and support a great cause - Enter our Virtual Run 4 For Your Lungs April 7, 2020 thru November 4, 2021 and run/walk/bike 3.1 miles anytime/anywhere between April 7, 2020 and Nov. 22, 2021 to support the cause. All finishers who upload their time to https://www.4wordsfoundation.org/enter-r4yl-virtual-5k-time will be sent a Finisher Medal.
Awards for the November 6, 2021 "LIVE" event are provided to the top male and female 5K Timed Run finishers overall, and in each category below:
Overall: Male and Female
Masters: 40 and above
Grand Masters: 50 and above
Senior Grand Masters: 60 and above
The first 3 male and female finishers in the November 6, 2021 "LIVE" 5K Time Run in each of the age categories below will receive a medal:
9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and older.

About Florida Southwestern State College - With the first students admitted to then Edison Junior College in the fall of 1962, the college continues to provide students with the opportunity to fulfill their professional goals. On July 1, 2014, the college was renamed Florida Southwestern State College (FSW). The college offers Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Baccalaureate degrees, as well as various certificate programs. Please visit their Academics page to learn more about their programs.
Lee County Campus, renamed the Thomas Edison Campus in 2014, has 24 permanent structures, including the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall.
The Collier County Campus opened in March of 1992. The beautiful campus, which includes four, state-of-the-art, energy- and environmentally-efficient buildings, is located on an 80-acre site near State Road 951 and Rattlesnake Hammock Road, in south Naples within Lely Resort. The Charlotte County Campus opened in 1997. Located on a wooded site on Airport Road in Punta Gorda, the campus features an observatory. FSW also provides services to students in Hendry and Glades counties on its Hendry/Glades Center located in LaBelle.
Florida Southwestern State College is governed by its District Board of Trustees composed of nine representatives from Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades and Lee counties. The members are appointed to four-year terms by the Governor of Florida.

Please be advised when registering for this event, that the event coordinator reserves the right to cancel the In-Person event or convert it to an all virtual event based on the prevailing CDC and governmental recommendation related to Covid-19. To the extent that the event is cancelled or converted to an all virtual event there will be no refunds and your registration fee will be deemed a donation.
