Food Drive Read-a-Thon!
Read to feed your neighbors! Through the month of April, K-8 readers have the opportunity to give back to their community and win prizes by fundraising for every minute they spend reading. Here's how it works:
1. Sign up here, and we'll send you information on how to set up your online Read-a-thon page, along with book suggestions and a printable reading log.
2. With your guardian's help, find sponsors (family friends, aunts, uncles, grandparents, neighbors) who will pledge a donation for the amount of time you spend reading (for example, 50 cents or a dollar per hour spent reading). Sponsors can also make a flat donation for your fundraiser.
3. Keep track of the number of minutes you spend reading during the month of April in your reading log, making sure to update your online log on a regular basis!
4. Submit your total number of minutes spent reading by April 30th.
5. At the end of the month, we'll tally the results and announce the winners! The top 3 participants who spend the most time reading will receive a gift certificate to a Hancock County book store.
