Math Medic Foundation Pi Day Pi K 2025 Presented by NumWorks

We'll meet around 5pm at the Riverside Park Boat Launch Parking Lot. The race will begin at 5:30pm. Runners, walkers, and bicyclists are all welcome. One of our sponsors, Our Family®, will provide pie for everyone after the race. Then, we'll head to a local place to celebrate!

The race will take place at Avondale High School at 10 AM on 3/15/25. The address is 2800 Waukegan Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326.

In-person locations will earn a portion of all MMF Pi Day Pi K proceeds.

Avondale High School Impact Statement: The Avondale High School math department is excited to host this event to fund a scholarship for two graduating seniors who have contributed positively to the math learning community. Contributions can be in the area of knowledge, collaboration, peer encouragement, and sharing a spirit of empowering others to be their best. The scholarships will be open to all students in all levels of math classes. We are excited to recognize and support two students who are going on to some form of post-secondary learning, including, community college, university, trade school, apprenticeship. Our hope is to make this a recurring, annual event, to grow this scholarship program.

The race will take place at Crete-Monee High School at 2 PM local time on 3/13/25. The address is 1515 W. Exchange Street Crete, IL 60417.

Crete-Monee High School Impact Statement: Hosting a Pi-Day Pi-K at Crete-Monee High School is going to have an incredible impact for our students and community. We are a diverse campus in the South Suburbs of Chicago in need of financial support. With nearly 100% of our students receiving free and reduced lunch, the funds raised from this event will ensure opportunities for our students.

The money we raise will support initiatives that allow students to participate in educational field trips and extracurricular activities, which will expand their understanding of how mathematics shapes the world. Additionally, the proceeds will help establish a local scholarship for deserving seniors, many of whom will be the first in their families to attend college.

This event promises to be an uplifting experience for our entire school community. By collaborating on a fun and positive initiative centered around mathematics, we aim to foster a sense of unity and excitement. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of our students and nurture a lifelong appreciation for learning.
