Oktoberfest 15K & 5K Sponsored by Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine and the Joyce Irish Pub

The 15K course is flat and picturesque. You run through a pretty park beside a small lake. Then cross a 1/3 mile long elevated boardwalk through a nature area and continue on to run beside beautiful Cape Fear National golf course. You'll return to the start by traveling over the elevated boardwalk again and head toward the finish running beside small lakes and down a slightly winding paved trail.

15K shirts are long sleeved soft cotton running shirts great for cool weather running.

15K awards for Open, Masters and age group M/F go 3-deep in 5 year age groups. Awards are custom beer mugs or Pilsner beer glasses.

The 5K course travels over paved running trails through a pretty park and around one of the picturesque neighborhoods in Brunswick Forest. The 5K/15K courses stay together until the 2.9 mile point when 5K runners head back to the finish in front of the Fitness Center and 15K runners take off for the rest of their race.

NOTE: The Oktoberfest 5K is a USATF Certified course (USATF Certification #NC16047DF) and is exactly right! We have one pending USATF 5K State Record with Grant Egley (age group 80-84) running a time of 34:08 in 2016!!

5K Awards are running medals going 3-deep overall and 2-deep in age groups.
