SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER - Kids 2K and 5K Race by Northside Running

A few reminders and instructions:

PARKING: The main parking lot, with parking closest to the entrance and race start, is the park's VIP parking lot during regular hours. The cost to park there during regular hours of operation is $20.

So you have several options:
1. Park in the VIP lot when you arrive for the race, pay for the VIP parking at check in and leave your car there after the race, while you enjoy the park.
2. Park in the VIP lot when you arrive for the race, then move your car to the "regular parking" area after the race, at no charge. You may then re-enter the park.
3. Park in the "regular parking" area, at no charge, when you arrive for the race and walk a bit further to the race start (approximately 1/3 mile). You are, of course, free to drop off your child, with an adult, at the park entrance before parking in that lot.

If you do use the regular parking lot, please ONLY PARK IN THE CENTER PARKING SPOTS! The perimeter of that lot is part of the 5K course. Parking lot attendants will be there to assist you.

PARK ADMISSION: Registered participants' park entrance for the day is included in their registration. For all others, a park pass will need to be purchased at the time of check-in. There are three $15 coupons included in the participant's race packet for you to use!! So, be sure to check your child in for the race first, then use the included coupons to purchase any additional park passes. The tables will be located right next to each other, for your convenience, at the entrance to the park.

RACE COURSE: The race courses run mainly along pathways and will be clearly marked with hot pink tape on the ground. In addition, we will have Course Marshalls stationed along the course to help insure that all runners stay on course. Please share this information, in advance, with your runner. And, please remind them that there will be plenty of time after the race to enjoy all of the fun activities that they will see along the way!

The 2K and 5K courses begin and end at the same start/finish line. However, they do break off from each other about a third of the way into the course. This split will be very clearly marked and staff will be stationed there to insure that runners know exactly where to go.
