A great introduction to trailing running! Some technical trail, lots of soft trail and a beautiful jaunt through the woods bordering West Neck Creek. You will finish in front of Buffington House for a great morning party on the lawn.

Parking for this event is free and is located in the Municipal Center lot located across from the park. Follow signs and volunteers to parking area
Restrooms are located in the main parking lot and there is one water stop on the course at approximately 1.7 miles.

The packed earth and small gravel ADA compliant trails of Windsor Castle park make it easy to navigate through the picturesque former plantation grounds. You will cross several foot bridges and yes there is a slight climb here and there, but the scenery makes up for the little extra effort!

Parking for this event is free. Please park in the grass field bordering Jericho Rd.; follow signs and race volunteers to the location. Please DO NOT park in the parking lot near the bathroooms. There are restrooms located at the start/finish line and one water stop at approximately mile 1.7.

A jewel in the middle of Hampton. The 456 acres of protected wetland marshes surrounding Sandy Bottom lake boast activities for any nature enthusiast.

64th and Atlantic, Virginia Beach, VA 23451

The culminating event in our series through the woods where the first Europeans in North America landed and where pirates have reportedly buried treasure. You will traverse the well worn, packed-earth trails of the Cape Henry. We will round out the day with picnic food and series awards.

Race Day Timeline:
7:45 am to 845 am - Runners to arrive, race day packet pick up
8:50 am to 9:00 am - Prerace announcements and National Anthem
9:00 am - 10 k Race begins
9:45 am - First Finisher Expected
10:00 am to 12:00 pm - Afterparty
10:30 time limit is up; course closes, last finisher expected;
11:30 am Finishers awards, series awards, and post race announcements

The race begins just in front of the Narrows. Use the 64th Street entrance to the park. Parking will be $5 CASH unless you have a parking pass from the state park. Park in the large parking lot near the boat ramps. Please come prepared to pay for your parking; you will not be able to get into the park otherwise. There are restrooms located at the start/finish line and one water stop at approximately mile 2.8.

*There are two courses for this event. Both have been professionally measure to ensure that they are at least 6.2 miles. The course that includes the Osprey Trail (which is both challenging and scenic) is plagued by erosion. Consequently there is a back up course with uses the Cape Henry Trail; it is beginner friendly while offering a chance for the experienced trail runner to really test their speed. The final determination as to which course will be used will be made in August.
