Where is packet pick up?
For the 2017 series all races will have packet pick up the morning of the race at the race site. So be sure to arrive early. Check each race registration for times. We will have pre-race yoga and other fun things going on before the races this year.
Where do I park?
West Neck Creek: Parking for this event is free and is located in the Municipal Center lot located across from the Courthouse Post Office. Follow the signs and volunteer directions.
Windsor Castle Park: Parking for this event is free and is located in the large field adjacent to the start line area. Follow signs and volunteer directions.
Sandy Bottom: Parking for this event is free and located within the park borders. Follow race signs to designated parking areas near the boat launch and bathrooms.
First Landing State Park: The race begins just in front of the Narrows. Use the 64th Street entrance to the park. Parking will be $5 CASH unless you have a parking pass from the state park. Park in the large parking lot near the boat ramps. Please come prepared to pay for your parking; you will not be able to get into the park otherwise.
Bathrooms and water stops?
There are restrooms located at the start/finish line of each race. There are no restrooms on the race courses themselves. All 5K's will have a water stop at approximately 1.7 miles. The 10k at First Landing has one water stop located at approximately mile 2.8. Remember these are natural areas, city and state owned. Please throw your trash in receptacles at the water stops or hold on to it until you find one (there will be plenty).
What are the prizes?
Each runner will receive an exclusive finisher’s prize at the end of each race. There will also be prizes awarded to the male and female 1st place overall winners as well as the top male and female in the following age categories 19 and younger, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 and better. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards as well. All participants who pay for all four races in the series will also receive a special finisher’s prize at the final race in September.
What if I have to leave early and I won a prize?
Prizes will be available for pick up the Monday following each race at a predetermined location. Because the prize sizes will vary, there is no set fee to have prizes mailed. But if you are unable to pick up your prize you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will let you know the shipping costs.
How can I get a t-shirt if I am only running one, two or three races?
Shirts are available for purchase in our web store.
So no medal either?
Well sort of. If you register for all 4 races you get a free custom medal in September. This allows us to keep costs low, give a great finisher’s item and also make the medal a coveted prize!
Do I need to bring anything special for a trail race?
Make sure that your shoes are responsive enough to adjust to the varying trail surfaces. You will be running on packed earth, grass, small gravel, and even a little asphalt. So you may need a different pair than your usual road running pair. The fantastic staff at Fleet Feet and help you decide. Other than that, bring your usual hydration and nutrition for the distance.
I am a little nervous about running trails. Will there be course preview runs?
For the any new courses added to series we will host a Facebook live video to preview the course. Make sure to like the Into the Woods Facebook Page or follow @1BodyFitness on Twitter for up to the minute details. Also, all of these trails are open to the public. So check them out whenever you get a chance.
Is my family allowed to come and watch?
Yes; cheering crowds are great to spur on tired legs. But please remember that post race food is for participants and volunteers only. Please be advised that 4 legged family members, while allowed in each of the parks, are not allowed to run with you during the race and must remain on leashes at all times.
Are volunteers needed?
Absolutely! Volunteers receive post race food and a thank you gift after the race. They can sign up here.
The link for each race map is posted on the race website one month prior to the race.
What about the referral credit?
