Description

Come run or walk  Florida’s Fastest 5K  course.  With net 80 feet of elevation loss (126 ft Loss and 46 ft Gain), only 3 turns, premium pavement, and no traffic, this race is set-up to beat your current personal record!  Over 50% of our 2020 & 2021 participants had a 5k PR (within 2 years) DUE TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS THIS RACE WILL HAVE A PARTICIPANT CAP!

Each car must have a parking pass or a valid yearly State Parks pass on race day. Parking passes  will be sent to purchase a week before race and also be available for purchase at packet pick-up. Click this link to get a day parking pass if you are not already an annual pass holder. Day passes must be purchased day of use. 

The race is a point to point USATF certified distance course within Lake Louisa State Park.  

The SWAG:   Each finisher will receive a gender specific singlet, custom medal, post race food and beer tickets to our local breweries.  Beer tickets are only for those participants 21 years of age and older, only two tickets per participant, one for each location. 

Packet Pickup: Friday January 20st from 2 PM - 6 PM  at Dash Sports, 741 W Montrose St Clermont, FL 34711. You may pick up race bibs for a friend but you must have their QR code and correct spelling of their name. This will avoid all spelling errors and the possibility of you picking up the wrong packet!! PACKETS NOT PICKED UP BY RACE MORNING WILL NOT BE HELD. VIRTUAL PACKETS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE SHIPPED 2 WEEKS AFTER THE RACE. Race day registration and packet pickup will be at Lake Louisa State Park down by the parking area from 6:00AM-7:00AM. We will not have paper registrations, all registrations must be 

Awards: Thank you to our awards sponsor LiveTrends Design Group!!! Male and Female: Top 3 Overall, 1st place Masters (40+) 1st place Grand Masters (50+), Top 3 in each 5 year age group 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+  . Awards will be announced at 8:45am (maybe sooner) once the event has concluded. Results can be checked online at the end of the event.  We will no longer be holding awards at Dash Sports to be picked up within a week. We want to encourage all our top finishers to stay for awards and cheer each other on. You've got to get on that podium and let us celebrate you. 

Teams:  That's right, it's bragging time!! Create a group with your friends, make it an office party or drag your family for some friendly competition.  Start the trash talk and put your sneakers where your mouth is. Teams of 4 or more will receive $5 off each participant. Upon creating the team, the first 3 registrants will pay full price, once the team minimum of 4 members has been reached, the previous 3 registrations will receive an automatic $5 refund. All registrations to the same team after that will already reflect the $5 discount. Team discount cannot be combined with any other offer.

Parking:  As you enter the  park volunteers will be directing participants to our designated parking area.  Lake Louisa State Park will open their gates at 5:00 am Participants can either run their warm-up to the starting line or take one of our shuttles. Shuttles will be starting at 5:45am and the very last one will be at 7:00am.  We will send an email closer to the race to ask your preference.  Please plan accordingly. This race involves a few more logistics than your average race, so please allow ample time to get to the park, go through the entrance, park and get to the start line.  The start line is about 2.9 miles from the parking area.  Only participants with bibs will be allowed to board the shuttles. If you are riding with someone who is not racing that morning, we strongly suggest getting dropped off at the entrance of the park/start line. 

VIR PARKING: Participants riding together to the race will be allowed to park in our VIR Parking (Very Important Runners 😂) located at the entrance of the park right next to the start line and will be shuttled back to their cars after the race. The last van will leave the finish / parking area by 9am. This will be a first come first serve parking lot to the first 30 cars with at least 3 participants in it. You must have 3 bibs in the car to park in the VIR parking lot. 

State Park Fee: We will also send an email closer to the event to ask you to purchase the Lake Louisa Park Pass of $5 per vehicle.  If you have an annual Florida park pass you will not need to buy an additional park pass but you must have it on you upon entering the park. 

There will be no dogs, strollers, skateboards, inline skates or bicycles allowed to race in this event. If you are a wheelchair participant please contact the race director.

They use community based activities, fundraising events and outreach efforts to raise funds and to increase awareness in the community about our precious Florida Native Habitat and  Park amenities available to the community. 

Event Transfers:  Are you unable to make it?  You may log in to your Run Signup.com account and transfer to a different event. The only cost will be the difference between the race for which you signed up and the current price of the race you now want to do, plus the transaction fee.  If you transfer down there will not be a refund. Please refer to our refund policy section for more details on  transfer deadlines. We will not field requests to transfer via email the week of the race.

The course starts at the ranger station at the park entrance and finishes at the Lake Louisa beach parking lot

Start / VIR Parking

Participants will enter the park at the entrance on Highway 27 and make their way to the parking area towards the finish line. Cars with 3 or more runners will be granted VIR Parking (Very Important Runner) right next to the start line on a first come first serve basis, up to 30 cars. You must show bibs in order to park in VIR Parking.

All participants not eligible for VIR Parking will be directed by our volunteers to our general parking area by the finish line.
