Get Connected

Share Your Journey and Photos

Join the Mayo Clinic Heritage Classic Facebook group and ask questions, share your wins, and your training or event photos.

Create a Group or Team

Create a Group or Team to rally your friends, family and coworkers to join you in one of the 5K events. Walkers and runners who participate with a team will ultimately have a more memorable race experience. Group/Teams can register separately with a Captain creating a group and allowing members to join, or together with multiple registrations in one transaction. Get a team going with either the Family Group OR Work Group.

5K Training Plans

Expert Tips

Use these smart training tips as you prepare for the Heritage Classic 5K Run/Walk.

Shoes

Stop by a local running shoe store to make sure you are using a shoe that best fits your foot type.

Slow

No matter how fast or slow you are, it’s important to always follow the rule of never increasing your running mileage by more than 10% each week. This helps prevent injuries.

Support

What drives your motivation? Is it music, friends, being outdoors? Create a playlist on your phone for running, grab a friend to run/walk with, start up a chat group to motivate/support each other, and plan out a few areas in which you can run/walk that will keep you from getting bored.

Schedule

Plan time on your calendar for running just like you’d schedule outings with friends, kids’ sports practices, or getting a haircut.
