Location: Staging from the Sarasota Event Center/Sahib Shrine on the corner of Circus Boulevard and Beneva Road (600 N Beneva Rd, Sarasota, FL 34232) Lots of easy, free parking.
Start Time: 7:30 a.m. with plenty of space to allow social distancing. The Fins & Flamingos 5K will be professionally timed by Durti Timing with a chip start and finish.
We will implement precautions as prescribed or recommended at the time of the event. If you test positive or develop symptoms of COVID-19 or otherwise become ill within 10 days of the event, we request you not come to the Fins & Flamingos 5K. Please notify us before the event and we will work with you to defer, transfer or change to virtual.
There WILL be a water station on the course that you will pass twice (around 1 1/2 miles and again about 2 1/4 miles) but you are always welcome to take your own hydration on the course.
We will have awards! Overall, Masters, Grandmasters, Sr. Grandmasters, Veteran Grandmasters, Senior Veteran Grandmasters (that's the first finisher 80 & older) and Youth Overall 14 & under. 3-deep age group awards 9 & under 10-14 the 5 year groups to 90 & over. Overall and category awards will be GUN time and age group awards will be chip time. To help with distancing and avoid crowding, be sure to sign up to receive your results via text or email. We will not post printed results but will have QR codes around that you will be able to scan with your device to view the results online at RunSignUp.
We are taking precautions that will include ensuring soap is available in the restrooms, hand-sanitizer in the race area, and frequently touched surfaces will be wiped with disinfectant wipes during the event. Disposable masks will be available for those who would like to mask but don't have one handy.
