Three runners. Two always on course. Seven laps.
Strategy wins.
What This Actually Is
This isn’t a solo sufferfest. It’s a squad mission.
Build a team of three. Two runners are on course at all times. Rotate through a rugged 4.5-mile loop of rocks, roots, rolling terrain, and smooth singletrack. Recover in the exchange zone while your teammates battle the woods.
First team to complete all seven laps wins. Simple.
How It Works
• 4.5-mile loop
• 7 total laps (approximately 62 miles combined)
• Two runners must be on course at all times
• Each runner completes at least 2 laps
• One runner may skip one rotation
• First team across the final lap wins
That’s it. No spreadsheets required.
Why This Is Better Than Running Solo
You get ultra distance vibes without 62 lonely miles.
• Built-in recovery time between laps
• Centralized exchange zone energy
• Set up camp, chairs, coolers
• Cheer. Heckle. Hydrate. Repeat.
• Shared suffering > solo suffering
It’s part race, part strategy session, part woodland tailgate.
Who This Is For
• Run clubs
• Competitive friend groups
• Former college runners who still talk trash
• Mixed-ability teams
• People who want something different
If you’ve ever said “we should do something ridiculous together” THIS IS IT!
