This is the most asked question we get, and the answer is a resounding NO!
Our training groups are open to all levels and abilities, including walkers and those looking to start a running routine. We have people of all paces participating, from sub-10-minute to 15-16++ minutes per mile pace. The vast majority of our 5K participants fall within the 12-13-minute pace range. We encourage runners and walkers to pair with a partner at a similar pace.
That’s ok. Come to as many as possible, but don’t let the group run schedule deter you from joining the program. Given the size of our training groups, it's not possible to find a single day and time that works for everyone.
We've had participants in the past who didn’t attend any group sessions but still found great value in the coaching/group dynamic, had a great experience, and successfully completed the race.
The training program offers significant value, whether you attend every group run or not.
This is absolutely fine! You'll be responsible for modifying your training plan to meet your specific needs. If your schedule is ahead of the group’s, we also ask that you don’t encourage other participants to run/walk longer distances than their training plan prescribes.
Yes, generally speaking, except for unsafe conditions such as lightning. We will always keep the group posted about the status of our group runs.
While we do our best to accommodate everyone's needs, please remember that this is group training. We do not currently offer one-on-one training.
Once the training program is shared with participants, we are not able to offer refunds.
If a unique circumstance prohibits you from completing the program (e.g., an injury), we can offer you a spot in a future training program.
Any refunds before the training program is shared will not include any applicable Run Signup fees.
