WALKERS: Walkers are welcome on the course and encouraged! If you go over the 5-hour time limit, please be aware that the post-race festivities may be wrapping up.

STROLLERS / KIDS: By all means, get the kids involved. Strollers are allowed and encouraged! Kids 12 and under are FREE to participate with a parent/guardian, but they will not get race swag. For participants aged 13-20, see below.

PARTICIPANTS AGE 13 TO 20 YEARS OLD: For runners/walkers who want to race and will be between the ages of 13 and 20 on race day, you can enter for a flat fee of $50. You get all the race support and the official T-shirt (register by August 1 to guarantee the tee), and your drink token can be used for non-alcoholic drinks in the biergarten. Please note that you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the post-race festivities and inside the biergarten. To remain on the premises, you must have a parent or legal guardian – No Exceptions.

SHUTTLES: Parking at the start is EXTREMELY limited at The Plant Kingdom and is reserved for volunteers working the start.* Please note that parking along Farmer’s Loop for spectators is also very limited. There will be shuttles on race morning, so please take advantage of them. Parking and shuttle pickup at Alaskaland (aka Pioneer Park) will be on the eastern side of the main parking lot at the corner of Airport Way Frontage Road and Moore Street. We will have detailed shuttle info closer to race day.

The first shuttle will take off at 8AM; the last shuttle will leave at 9:15AM

* If you do not want to use the shuttles, please plan on getting dropped off at the start. Please note that this may require allowing extra time as traffic will be slow and congested along Fideler Road.

RESTROOMS: Restrooms will be at the start, finish, and half-way point.

HYDRATION STATIONS: Plan on stations every 3-4 miles with water and sports drink…and BEER at the end!

MEDICAL SUPPORT: We have been working with the city of Fairbanks on planning. They are aware of the race and on-call if needed. Volunteers will be on the course to assist. If there is an emergency, dial 911. There will be an AED at the start and finish line, and a medic tent at the finish area.

RACE RESULTS: A timing chip will be attached to each race bib. Please do not remove the timing chip. Please ensure that your bib is clearly visible on the FRONT and OUTSIDE of your race apparel. It serves as a backup if your timing chip does not function properly (it is rare, but it happens).

SPECTATORS: Please encourage your family and friends to cheer you on along the race course! Their presence brings energy to participants and makes the experience even more celebratory and fun. Bring your homemade signs, smiles, and cheers! Spectators must be respectful of race participants - do not block the course or interfere with volunteer efforts (hydration stations, traffic control). Parking along the route is limited and it is imperative that spectators obey traffic laws and practice safety along roadways and intersections.

DOGS & PETS: Do not bring them. Period. We love our furry friends, but this is not the event for them. Regardless of whether you are racing, spectating, or joining for the post-race party, please leave your fur babies at home. Exception: Service animals are welcome at the race and the finish party, in accordance with ADA guidelines, and must have a service vest on at all times.

Where Does Money My Go?

Your registration fees go toward providing a quality half-marathon race experience. We are paying professionals to provide real-time and accurate timing, which includes setup, bibs, and chip timing. Insurance, city permits, registration services, and participant swag is covered, too. Thanks to participants, the race can significantly contribute to a local non-profit. In 2026, we will be supporting Arctic German Shepherd Rescue.
