The Frozen Feeet Challenge is to walk, hike, run, snowshoe, or cross-country ski one mile (or more) daily OUTSIDE for 6 weeks! To be accountable, log your completed miles on our RuSignup page. Once you log into the site, bookmark it to make it easy to find. Remember, the Frozen Feet Challenge uses the honor system. If you cheat, then you are only cheating yourself.
Create a team or join a team. You can create or join a team during registration. It is more fun when you work with family, friends, or co-workers. Healthy peer pressure makes for healthy habits!

What if the weather's bad? Define "bad." There's no bad weather, only bad clothing choices. There may be days that are just too treacherous to get outside. When making the decision to give a “mulligan” day please know that it will be done early in the morning, and safety is of the utmost importance for all. You will receive an email, with a “mulligan” notification, and t it will also be posted immediately on our Facebook and RunSignup page. Otherwise, “bad” weather is part of the challenge, and assume it's a go! Ridgefield Running, Darien Running, Brookfield Running or Darien Running at Chelsea Piers (Stamford) can get you outfitted comfortably for all kinds of weather...come see us or shop online!

Can I bike? What about downhill skiing? Nope and nope. You cannot use wheels or gravity to get those miles in. (*note we will count cross-country skiing because you gotta work against gravity to keep momentum!)
-
I'm having trouble logging my miles and/or it doesn't recognize me. Make sure you are logged into RunSignup with the email you used when you signed up.
-
Can I get a sick day? No sick days are given. Sorry, you’ll be out of the challenge, but we hope you’ll pick it back up when you’re feeling better.
-
Can I split up the mile into a few efforts on the same day? Nope. Do it in one effort!
-
Can I "bank" miles to use on other days? No banking. One mile a day (or more) for 6 weeks.
-
Do you have to live in the CT area to participate? Nope! We love to spread the Frozen Feet love far and wide. Involving your friends and family in other parts of the world will help with accountability. (There is no shipping or delivery available for the free finisher gift but someone else may pick it up for you.)
HOW TO LOG MILES
It is your responsibility to log your miles. We recommend logging them daily or weekly, rather than waiting until the end of the challenge. The best success rate comes from logging miles immediately after your activity. Please note that you must manually enter your results, as the site does not import or sync data from external apps or devices. However, you can upload a GPX, FIT, or TCX file directly. To help you stay on track, we encourage setting an alarm on your phone or calendar to remind you to record your miles weekly (or daily) so you don’t fall behind.
Please note: If you are registering someone other than yourself, make sure that you input THEIR email address so they can log their miles easily, and get updates from us.
