2024 APS 5K and Character Fun Run

Sign up for the APS 5K and Character Fun Run, kicking-off the 2024-2025 school year for Atlanta Public Schools!

APS Family, we need you. Get ready to lace up your shoes and join us for a thrilling event to start the school year— the APS 5K and Character Fun Run! Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 7th and plan to meet us at HJ Russell West End Academy, where we will continue celebrating Atlanta Public Schools with a race for a great cause.

The price of registration includes a race bib and a commemorative T-shirt, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit students and teachers of Atlanta Public Schools.

This event is open to runners and walkers of all ages, even the little ones ages 11 and under, who can participate in the Character Fun Run by dressing as their favorite book character. All other participants are encouraged to show their spirit by wearing their favorite APS school shirt or school colors for the 5K.

Teachers and paraprofessionals: We didn't forget about you! We are excited to offer you a special registration fee of $10. Please email us for a coupon code to use.
Students 18 & under: Your entry fee is also $10! (this will show as you register).

Unable to join us September 7th, but you still want to participate? There's great news! You can register as a Virtual 5K Participant and run or walk your own race at your own pace! Once you've completed your race, you'll just submit your results here. It's that easy. Register now!
