Champs Dash 5K

Make Plans NOW! To Join us for the inaugural running of the "Champs Dash 5K"!  Enjoy a late summertime morning run, jog, or walk along the beautiful Silver Comet Trail in Downtown Rockmart, GA!  The race route will start on the Silver Comet in Downtown heading east to the Van Wert trailhead as the (mostly) shaded trail weaves its way along the creek, then head back to Seaborn Jones Park in downtown for Post-Race refreshments!

 All proceeds from this event with benefit the Polk County Sheriff’s Office C.H.A.M.P.S. Program. This is the Polk County’s Drug and Safety Education Program taught by certified Sheriff’s Deputies in all Polk County Elementary Schools. Come out and join us for a beautiful morning while giving back to the children our community!!

Race Logistics:  Saturday - August 3, 2024 - 5K Start time: 9:00am

Pre-Race Packet pickup: To be held Friday, August 2nd, from 8:00 – 4:00 pm at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office)

Race-Day Schedule of Events:
*Race day registration opens: 7:45 AM
*Race day registration closes: 8:45 AM
*Race day announcements: 8:55 AM
*5K Champs Dash Start Time: 9:00 AM
*Please Note:  (Race swag bags and t-shirts not guaranteed for those who register on race day.)

Water/Aid Station: There will be an aid station and water at the turn around point at Van Wert Trailhead.

Awards: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd OVERALL (Male & Female)   

Medals will also be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place (Male & Female) in the following Age Groups:
*14&Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70&Over
(Please note: There will be no “double dipping” in road-racing awards! So the overall winners will not be eligible for age group awards.)

Race Route Information:  The Race will start on the Silver Comet Trail adjacent to Water street and head west to the bridge at the Van Wert Trailhead for the loop-around return to Downtown Rockmart.  The Finish line is located just before the bridge at Church Street in downtown Rockmart.

Fruit, snacks and refreshments will be provided by our Sponsors after the race.
