Dear (Name)

Did you know up to 20% of people have Dyslexia? That's 4-5 kids in every classroom! I'll be walking in Decoding Dyslexia Oregon's first annual "GO RED Walk for Dyslexia" walk to raise Dyslexia Awareness. I'd like you to join me!

I'm writing to ask you to donate to my fundraising team at (link to fundraising page) #GORED4Dyslexia or create your own fundraiser and walk with me. Dyslexia is pervasively misunderstood even by educators, counselors, and pediatricians. Many educators have not been trained to recognize or to remediate Dyslexia.

Dyslexia is also an equity issue. Parents who are able, pay for private tutoring while financially challenged families cannot afford to purchase best practices.

Decoding Dyslexia Oregon is working to ensure teachers have more tools in their toolbox, parents have support and resources as they navigate this unexpected journey, and kids have opportunities to connect with others who have the same learning profile at social events.

Please join me in this important cause! It means a lot to me.

Thank you!
