Dogs are not allowed on the course or at any of the race venues.
Headphones are not allowed during the race. You may not use a device to broadcast music. You may carry your phone on the course.
There is no race-day registration.
Our race starts at the Bartlett Pool and ends at Pena Park. There are free shuttles between the locations.
During bike drop off and before 8:00 am on race day, you may leave your bags with gear for our remote T2 and the finish line.
There is water on both the bike and run course.
There are are porta-potties at the race start, along the course and in the finish area of Pena Park.
Parents can pick up packets for minors, but all others must pick up their own packet. Please email the race directors if this is not possible: racedirectors@goldnuggettriathlon.com
All virtual racers and finishers receive a shirt!
Yes, parking is free.
On bike drop off day, please use the VA parking lot. On race day, please enter the Tikhatnu Parking through the marked 2nd light. Follow all volunteer directions and be good stewards to the area businesses. Please carpool!
There is no outside assistance for racers and this includes parents shadowing their child or helping them in the transition area. Racers are not able to register twice in order to both race individually and again with their child. You may not complete your race and return to the course to race with your child.
All bikes must use a stable bike stand. They must fit in the designated bike lane. They will be sold on bike drop off day as well.
You are able to use the Bartlett Gym Locker Room (next to the pool building). You can bring a lock to secure your items. You can also use this building to change in your race kit after walking from parking at Tikhatnu.
On race day, you will receive a timing chip and a strap as you enter the pool.
- Top 10 Overall Finishers (Note: Top 10 overall are excluded from age group awards)
- Top 5 Finishers in Each Age Group (Five-year increments, from the youngest to the oldest participant)
- Top 5 Mother-Daughter Teams (Combined time of mother and one daughter)
- Top Team in Each Division (Combined top five times of a team)
- Tri-Generation Award (Combined time of grandmother, mother, and granddaughter)
- Spirit of GNT Award

Yes, you can transfer your in-person entry to the virtual race through your runsignup profile. You can pick up your finisher shirt and swim cap on Saturday from 1:00-5:00 at Bartlett or at the Awards Potluck on the Monday following the race. You can request to start with a team. We have limited slots avaialbe for this option and most are in the afternoon.
