Aloha, The Stomp out Hunger 5k and 1m walk is for the benefit of Hale Kau Kau will be on Sat. Oct 19th at 25 Lipoa St in Kihei. Hale Kau Kau is a non profit mostly volunteer run organization that cooks and serves a hot nutritious meal every day of the year to those who are hungry on Maui. With volunteer drivers we deliver about 70 meals to the homebound elderly and disabled in South Maui. From the kitchen, volunteers serve a hot meal to all those who come who are hungry, families, elders and the homeless. Each night as many as 80-90 meals are served from the kitchen. We rely on fundraising for the bulk of the money needed to buy the food, and pay for the cost of serving the meal each and every day. Your participation in the event today is important to our fundraising efforts. All of the proceeds, shirts are provided from sponsorship money donated by our sponsors, so that all of the proceeds go into the operating budget of hale Kau Kau to continue to feed the hungry. Mahalo nui loa for your support and contributions. Recently there was a large fire on Maui and residents needed to be evacuated, Hale Kau Kau brought 350 meals to the temporary shelters. We are always in need of volunteers to deliver the meals and to help in the kitchen. We even need volunteers who on occasion can pick up food being donated by local businesses. please call 8758754 to volunteer.
