2023 Marathon Course

This is a Boston Qualifier. United States Track and Field Certification # is PA20015NP.  A 26.2-mile route must be USATF certified to be accepted by the BAA as a qualifier race.

2023 Changes: There is a slight modification to the 2023 course. The southernmost part of the course will include a lap around the Penndot building instead of the full gravel loop around Phoenix Park. This new section of the course will be clearly marked. This new section has been included in the newly approved USATF certification, so this race is a Boston Qualifier.

This is a USATF (United States Track and Field) Certified 26.2-Mile Course. The course certification number is PA20015NP. If you are not familiar with USATF certification, this means that the course has been officially measured following procedures required by United States Track and Field. When the course is officially measured, it certifies the distance.

TWO LOOPS: Please note that you will complete two 13.1-mile loops of this course. The start, halfway, and finish lines are all in the same area in the north parking lot on City Island.

This course starts and ends in the north parking lot of City Island.

Since this is a course where you will do two loops, there will be passing involved. We ask that you limit buddy running in the areas with two-way runner traffic and yield to participants who are passing you.

We will have volunteers throughout the course, so please take the time to thank them as you go by! We could not make these races happen without our wonderful volunteer crew on the course and start/finish line area.

Please note that there will be some pedestrians using the same paths the course uses. There may be some people on bikes, with strollers, walking dogs, etc.

This is a two-lap course that starts and ends in the same place.

Half Marathon Course

This course is one loop of the full marathon course and starts/finishes in the same place (see map above). The full marathon course consists of two 13.1 mile loops and is USATF certified. One loop of the course is 13.1 miles.

Relay Course

The relay course will have the same start and finish as the half and the marathon. There will be one relay exchange point on City Island at the start/finish line and one at Front St/Maclay St.

Relay Legs 1 & 3 (7.85 miles)

Relay Legs 2 & 4 (5.36 miles)
