A message from St Pat's 5K Director Bill Read.
I thought for sure we'd have a St Pat's 5K in 2020. And it's difficult to share we will not be having the race as expected.
The St Pat's 5K is more than just a run. It's a chance to see friends and have a great time after some exercise. However, much like in March, so many things that make the St Pat's 5K great just cannot go forward safely.
You might recall our first attempt was cancelled just 48 hours prior to the race. So we have your shirts for you, and yes, you get them.
The VFW is the primary benefactor of this event. On Sunday, September 20th, 11AM-3PM you can pick up your shirt at the VFW. Please respect social distancing upon entry, wear your mask, and get your shirts. We also encourage you to go for a run. It will not be timed, but go have fun and stay active. (Note, if you choose to run the course, there will be no street closures, please be aware of your surroundings and run at your own risk.) Finally, if you are not comfortable entering the VFW we would be happy to help make arrangements that day to bring your shirt(s) to your car.
I've heard your feedback both for and against the race and the associated activities. Please know we've brainstormed many options before deciding this today. It was a very difficult decision. Please stay safe and healthy so we can go back to a normal race soon.
Proceeds go to Veterans Helping Veterans.
