Join us on Saturday, September 9th at 8:00 AM at the University of Southern Indiana to help raise money to support Road to Mafraq, a non- profit dedicated to providing education for Syrian refugee children living in Jordan. We will be hosting our Second Annual 5k Run as well as a 2k Run/Walk.
This year we will be partnering with Collateral Repair Project, a 501(c)(3) that works to bring much needed assistance to refugees and other victims of war and conflict. We are proud to be collaborating with them to develop a program we call Dreams for Teams that will help some of the teens the Collateral Repair Project works with learn and develop leadership skills they can use when they are able to return to their homes after the conflict in their home country ends. At the end of the leadership training program, the teens will develop and implement athletic camps for younger children in the area to attend.
The money raised from the 2nd Annual Run for Refugees will go towards paying for program costs, teacher salaries, and sports equipment that will be used for this particular program and for others in the future. Funds collected in addition to what is needed to directly support Dreams for Teams will be used to support the Collateral Repair Project's many other programs, such as assistance for food and housing to refugee families and their Family and Resource Community Center. Information on these and other outreach programs from Collateral Repair Project can be found by clicking on the "About Collateral Repair Project" tab on the left.
Want to donate to our cause but can't make it to the race? See the Donations button at the top of your screen to donate! Also, any race participants who set up their own fundraiser and raises $100 or more will get their race fee refunded!
