Description
ΚîÇΚÂΡΘΘ ΤRÎÂΤHLΘΝ
After a one-year hiatus, the Kickapoo Triathlon and Duathlon is back! It's now being put on by, and for the benefit of, Quarry Triathlon Club, a youth developmental triathlon program based in Bloomington, IN.
USA Triathlon Sanctioned Event
USAT membership will be required at registration or you can opt for a one-day USAT license.
500Μ SWIM 20K BIKE 5K RUN
The triathlon will begin with a 500-meter swim in beautiful Lake Kickapoo. There will be separate wave starts for male and female, then a time trial start for those who prefer not to do a wave start. Athletes will then head out for a fast, two-loop, 20k bike course on smooth, mostly flat roads. The run leg will be a shaded, slightly rolling, out-and-back 5k.
The duathlon will start at the same time as the first wave of the triathlon, but with a 1-mile out-and-back run in place of the swim, then continuing on with the same 20k bike and 5k run as the triathlon.
This race is held completely within beautiful Shakamak State Park with little traffic, making it perfect for beginners. The good road surface and shaded run are ideal for veterans seeking a fast time. Water will be available on the run course. Snacks and drinks will be provided after the race.

Prior year results: 2020-2024
Shirts
The shirt cutoff was July 21. There will be a few extras available for purchase on race day.
Entrance & Parking
We didn't build the park entry fee into the registration cost so that those with an annual state parks pass wouldn't be unduly charged. Note that the daily state park entrance fee for a noncommercial vehicle is:
- Indiana license plate: $7
- Out-of-state license plate: $15
Some vehicles will be directed to the Lake Kickapoo parking lot, which is where transition is located. Overflow parking will be in the Lake Lenape parking lot, which is 0.4 miles from transition.
Note: Vehicles in the Kickapoo lot likely won't be allowed to exit until approximately 9:30. If you're trying to make a speedy exit after the race, you should park in the Lenape lot.
