March 19, 2020
Dear friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we need to announce the 2020 Newburgh Rivertown Trail 5K & 10K has been cancelled. Yesterday, March 18, 2020, the Newburgh Town Council with the support of essential town officials, voted to cancel the race. Both of these groups have been incredibly supportive over the years and essential to smooth operations and successful events. We know they didn’t take this decision lightly.
To our participants, we are bummed right along with you! We were on track for our biggest year ever, and we are so appreciative of those that already registered. In light of the situation, we are offering our paid participants the following options:
Please review these options and let us know how you would like to proceed. We are working with our online registration vendor, RunSignUp.com, on next steps. Refunds may take time as we navigate the situation but are working in good faith to satisfy our valued participants. Please send your preference to clairebosma@me.com so we can proceed. You can also send us a message on Facebook.
A few additional “thank you” notes to those that were working so hard on a great 2020 race:
So much love to those sponsors that were already committed to support. We’ll be in immediate contact with you to determine next steps.
A special thanks to the Newburgh Police Department for their guidance and course support.
Big shout out to To The Finish Timing and the Roman-Klotz family.
Our 2020 Race Committee and volunteers.
As always, the safety of our participants, staff, volunteers, sponsors and community neighbors is our top priority. We are so thankful to our trail community and look forward to seeing you again soon.
Sincerely,
Claire Bosma
