Back Your Badge Marathon is a premier race event sponsored by the Town of Plainfield, Indiana to show support for all Public Safety Agencies. Police, Fire, and Communications have all made a commitment to the health and wellness of their personnel. Join us in supporting Public Safety at the 2nd Annual Back Your Badge Marathon. The race features 5k (3.1 Miles), ½ Marathon (13.1 Miles) and Full Marathon distances (26.2 Miles). The course travels a mix of everything the town has to offer. Run historic US 40, Plainfield Parks Trail System (paved trails), and run by or through your local police station, fire station and communications center. You pick the agency you support, and each mile you run, or walk will be added to their running total. The agency with the most total miles will earn the bragging rights and traveling trophy. All proceeds will directly benefit Public Safety Beneficent programs, Local Youth Assistance programs and a Paramedic Scholarship program.

Courses
Each course will showcase different aspects of Plainfield. All courses will run on Historic US 40 through Downtown Plainfield. Expect also to run on shaded greenway trails, on iron bridges, and through parks. Marathoners will also run through the bay of a Plainfield Fire Station.

Some way, some how we're all connected to one of these badges. Now it's time to choose a side and Back Your Badge! Each mile you run, or walk will be added to their running total. The agency with most total miles will earn the bragging rights and traveling trophy.
Back The Blue
Do you enjoy high adrenaline situations? Do you perform best under pressure? Use your adrenaline to support the Police during your Back the Badge Run. Police agencies have the privilege and honor of keeping our communities safe and you can back us on race day.
Back 9-1-1 Dispatchers
Do you or someone you know enjoy telling people where to go and what to do? That is exactly what the women and men of the 911 Communication Centers get to do everyday to our friends in blue and red. On race day choose to support the ones who answer the call every second of every day. We look forward to cheering you on, providing an aid station and showing you our spirit on the trail.
Back The Fire Department
Did you dream of riding on a fire truck, spraying water from a firehose, or hearing the sirens? Bring back that excitement on race day and choose the Fire Territory on race day. Aid station, medical support, and support provided on the Marathon course at the Fire Station.
