EVENT SCHEDULE

SCHEDULE DETAILS


CHECK IN 
Check in and bag pickup is FRIDAY from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Warm Lake Lodge Courtyard.  Check in on the front patio of the Warm Lake Lodge.  You will get your Wet Bag, Bib, Bike Tag, Timing Chip, Wave Assignment, T2 Bag, Finish Bag and Swag when you sign-in. You must bring ID with you.  If you are not able to race, you can still receive the swag and branded garment. If you are not able to pick up your bag/garment, you can contact us at ihm.triathlon@gmail.com and arrange for someone else to pick it up for you. 

DEFINITIONS:

  • Wet Bag: place wet items after the swim leg.
  • T2 Bag: place items needed for the run leg.
  • Finish Bag: place items wanted at the end of the race.
  • Bike Tag: zip-tie to the front of the bike or on the right-hand side of your adaptive bike.
  • Bib: pinned on your chest and visible during the run course
  • Timing Chip: worn around the right ankle.  Remember to switch timing chips with your Relay Team Member.


RACE ITEM TRANSPORT:

Wet bags will be transported to T1 and placed by the bike racks. T2 Bags and Finish Bags will be transported to T2 and the finish line.  Wet Bags remaining after athletes have left T1 will be transported to the finish line. T2 Bags remaining after athletes have left T2 will be transported to the finish line. Bikes left at T2 will be transported to the finish line.

ORIENTATION:

Orientation is at 9:00 AM in the Warm Lake Lodge Courtyard (grassy area behind the lodge). Attendance is mandatory for all athletes. Helpers, volunteers, and spectators are welcome.  Orientation will cover the Wave order; the event leg directions.  Safety boaters/kayakers report to the start line at 9:00 AM for safety orientation.

Swim: start at beach, swim with buoys on the right side, turn at red buoy, end at the boat ramp docks. 
Bike: ride from boat ramp parking area to highway, over the grade, turn on Johnson Creek Road, end at Cox Ranch. 
Run: start at Cox Ranch, run Johnson Creek Road to Yellow Pine. 
Potential hazards (loose gravel, traffic, wildlife, uneven surfaces, etc.)
Course support (safety boaters, aid stations, safety patrols, flaggers, spotters.
Drivers will not be allowed to follow the athletes during the race. Johnson Creek Rd will be closed to public traffic from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. If vehicles are on Johnson Creek Rd before 10:30, they will be required to park and wait until 2:30 before proceeding.

FRIDAY EVENING GET TOGETHER

The Get Together is Friday 5:00 - 9:00 pm at The Banshee Irish Pub at Warm Lake Lodge. This is an opportunity to get to know the other athletes, helpers, volunteers, and relax a bit before the race. Attendance is not required. Food and beverages are available for purchase.


SATURDAY MORNING BREAKFAST

Warm Lake Lodge will have a breakfast buffet available for purchase.  The buffet is from 7:00 to 9:00 am inside the lodge.


TRIATHLON TRADITION CIRCLE:

At 9:55 am, all athletes, helpers, volunteers, etc. gather in a circle at the Start for the IHMT tradition chant.


RACE START

The race has a “shotgun” start. The first wave starts at 10:00 am, with each subsequent wave starting 15 minutes after the last.


RACE TRANSPORT

The first shuttle leaves T1 at 10:15 am. This shuttle will take relay team members to T2; T2 bags to T2; and Finish Bags to the finish line. Volunteers for T2 and the finish line can also take this shuttle.  

The next shuttle leaves after the final swimmer is done.  This shuttle takes the Wet Bags and volunteers to the finish line.

The T2 shuttle leaves when the last athlete leaves T2. Remaining T2 Bags and volunteers will be taken to the finish line.  The bike transport trailer(s) will also take the bikes to the finish line area.

The Final Shuttle leaves Yellow Pine at 6:30 pm and returns to Warm Lake Lodge with athletes, equipment, etc. 

AFTER THE RACE

All athletes, supporters, and volunteers are welcome at the After Party in Yellow Pine. The After Party will be held behind the Yellow Pine Community Hall from 2:30 - 6:00 pm.  Food and beverages are provided.  Awards will be handed out at the After Party.  Folks staying in the area are welcomed at local businesses.

SUNDAY MORNING

Folks involved (participating in, helping at, or watching) in the triathlon are welcome to coffee at Deb’s house on Sunday morning beginning at 6:30 am. This is an opportunity to get your feedback about all parts of the events - what went well, what could be improved, what not to do again.  Your feedback has helped the triathlon be safer, more fun for athletes, and more popular each year.
