Description

As the sun rises on New Year's Day 2025, brave runners from all over Long Beach gather at the starting line of the annual New Year's Day Dash. Some are still nursing hangovers from the previous night's festivities, while others are simply determined to start the year off on the right foot (or left foot, depending on which is your favorite).

Step into a world where coastal serenity and the pounding waves of the sea harmonize with the rhythmic beat of your heart.

At High Tide Runs, we offer you an exhilarating experience that goes beyond a mere event; it's a movement, a community of passionate runners who share a love for the sport and a deep appreciation for the ocean's tranquility.

As a dedicated runner, you already know the thrill of the race, the joy of crossing the finish line, and the escape that running brings. Now, imagine all of this set against the breathtaking backdrop of the endless ocean horizon.

At High Tide Runs, we believe in offering an extraordinary experience without extravagant costs. We're not about glitz and glamor; we're about substance and connection.

Our mission is to make running accessible to all and celebrate the journey rather than the spectacle.

Sign up for three events simultaneously and enjoy a generous 15% discount on the total cost. It's an opportunity to elevate your High Tide Runs experience while being fiscally savvy.

But why stop there? As you embrace the thrill of the tides, set ambitious goals on your calendar. Complete 10 or more events within a single year, and you'll earn an exclusive, limited-edition HTR shirt—a badge of honor that signifies your unwavering dedication. For the truly unstoppable souls who conquer 15 or more events in a year, the rewards are even grander: your entry to another event becomes our gift to you, a testament to your endurance and commitment.

Who's invited to our events? Everyone!

High Tide Runs embraces a true spirit of inclusion. Our races are a tapestry of individuals, woven together by their passion for movement. Age, speed, and experience don't matter; if you're eager to be part of the journey, you're already one of us.

Course Time Limit:

Our designated course completion time has been set at 3 hours and 20 minutes. The Half Marathon and 10 Miler kick off at 7:00 AM, and the timing concludes at 10:20 AM.

For those concerned about nearing the time limit, an early start time of 6:30 AM is available, providing a generous time limit of 3 hours and 45 minutes for a more comfortable and leisurely completion of the race. Early starters are excluded from winning awards

Early start runners should be at the High Tide tents by 6:20 am to pick up a bib and hit the race course.

About our Courses:

We embrace an open-course philosophy, inviting a vibrant tapestry of fellow runners, walkers, and enthusiasts to share the day's experience with you. Safety is paramount, and we kindly request all runners to remain on the designated pedestrian side of the beach path. The course elegantly follows the beach path without deviation, assuring you a seamless journey. We have thoughtfully placed two water stations on the course, providing water and Gatorade.

Course Specifics:

The 5K and 10K races share the same course. The turnaround is located at mile 1.55, marked with a runner turn sign, a large orange flag, and chalk.. The 5K race follows a single out-and-back lap, while the 10K race involves two out-and-back laps.

What you get:

Every participant, without exception, will proudly claim a finisher's medal, a symbol of your triumph etched in metal. As you cross that finish line, a treasure trove of finish-line goodies will be yours to savor, a delightful celebration of your accomplishment.

Capture the moment forever with our gift of free downloadable race photos, typically posted within 24 hours of the event. Curious about your performance? Fear not, as race results will be meticulously tabulated and promptly posted on our website within 10 hours of the race's conclusion.

Refunds and Deferrals, Simplified:
