Description
Founded in 2014, EPIC Series is a hybrid obstacle course race (OCR) unlike any other existing course in the World. Epic combines elements of cross-training, strongman, and traditional obstacle course racing, without the mud or long-distance running. By creating obstacles that have Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced options, EPIC Series opens up obstacle course racing to a wider audience of fitness enthusiasts. We’ve also incorporated a family-friendly event. Children ages 7-12 can run alongside their parents during the open waves.
ELITE WAVES
- In addition to the OCR Course, Elite athletes will participate in the Strength or Endurance Elite competition.
- Elite Waves are start at 8AM, 9AM, 10AM, and 10:30 and are limited to 10 participants at a time
- Athletes in these waves are competing for the coveted EPIC belt.
- To be eligible for podium awards, Men must complete the Advanced (black-colored) obstacles, and Women must complete the Intermediate (blue-colored) obstacles.
- When Elites check in for the OCR Course, you will schedule a time slot for your Elite challenge.
- Only one male and one female can compete in the strength or endurance competition at a time.
- If you are not present for the Elite challenge, you can be rescheduled to a later time. (there may be a wait)
OPEN WAVES
- Open Waves are released beginning at 8:00am onwards.
- Limited time slots are available before 10:30 for “faster” athletes
- Most Open Waves will be available after 10:30am
- These are mixed-level waves where anyone can complete any level obstacle they choose.
- These waves are not eligible for podium awards.
EPIC EVERY JOE AND EVERY JANE COURSE
- Open Wave competitors can optionally sign up for the Every Joe and Jane course for and additional $25
- When competitors check in for the OCR Course, you will schedule a time slot for your Every J challenge.
- Time slots are limited. If you miss your slot, you may have to wait for a new time.
- These waves are not eligible for podium awards.
