Join the Academy of General Dentistry in the Fight Against Oral Cancer!
Be part of a movement on April ___ at Denver's City Park for our 5K event dedicated to raising awareness about oral cancer.
Oral cancer can affect any area of the mouth and is influenced by risk factors such as tobacco and heavy alcohol use, as well as HPV infection. Symptoms to watch for include non-healing sores, lumps, and unusual red or white patches inside the mouth. Treatment options may involve surgery, radiation, and sometimes chemotherapy. According to the American Cancer Society, the projections for 2024 indicate approximately 58,450 new cases of oral cavity and oropharyngeal cancers, leading to around 12,230 deaths.
RACE INFORMATION
Packet Pick-Up: The race will begin at 10:00 am. Bib pick-up will be from 9:00 AM - 9:40 AM, please bring a photo ID for check-in.
