The run BEFORE the parade! Thousands of cheering spectators along beautiful, tree-lined, Manatee Avenue make this a unique 5k experience.
Runners will race an out-and-back course along the route of the Hernando de Soto Historical Society Heritage Festival Grand Parade on Manatee Avenue down to around 37th St W and back to downtown Old Main. This is one of the most spectacular parades in the southeastern United States. The start and finish line are directly in front of O'Bricks Grille.
Register by April 17th to guarantee a shirt.

(Students in need of volunteer hours for scholarships are eligible and will receive a signed letter from the club verifying hours.)
So where does your money go??? Your money (after race expenses are deducted) go to support local student running athletes. The De Soto Grand Parade 5k benefits the Bradenton Runners Club student athletic program which awards scholarships to high school seniors and financial aid to students wishing to attend summer running camps. Manatee Ave. closes off for the parade at 5:30 p.m. so BRC suggests runners be prepared to arrive by 5:00 p.m.

(If planning to go to Magnanimous Brewing right after the race it might be good to park on the south side of Manatee Ave and walk to the start, that way you can drive there easily.)
